Dear Parents,

This is my third year at F.A.C.E.S. camp. I thoroughly enjoy the

experience, and have such a wonderful time working with the kids. I am

looking forward to working with your child this year! Please feel free to

contact me with any concerns or things you would like me to know about

your child. My email is denny.pettway@gmail.com and my cell phone

number is 706-248-5663.

Denny Pettway began his teaching career after spending twenty years as a

United States Marine. Prior to retirement from the Marines, Denny

completed his undergraduate in psychology and began his masters in

special education. His first experience in education was at Rutland

Academy in Athens, Ga., where he worked with middle school kids with

severe emotional/behavior disorders. This is where Mr. Pettway

discovered his love for students with special needs. From Rutland, he

went to Barnett Shoals Elementary also in Athens. While at Barnett

Shoals he taught students with special needs in grades 1-5 as well as

holding social skills groups for students with Autism in grades 1-5. Mr.

Pettway now works at Timothy Road Elementary in a district level

classroom, teaching second graders with significant developmental delays

and/or emotional behavior disorders in a behavior focused classroom. He

is currently pursuing an educational specialist degree in brain-based

teaching and learning. This is Mr. Pettway's third year at F.A.C.E.S., and

he is excited to work with your child.
